Are they going to develop a pre migration utility to check the data integrity PRIOR to the actual migration and risk having the migration blow up due to corrupted data?

@MoiraGoggin in the webinar today you asked for Sage PR cases we have regarding PR and tax rule clarification - here's my case #8006793212; also I've had all PR 3 upgrade customers express their dislike for the landscape forms in PR 2018, they'd like a choice.

@MoiraGoggin as a supplemental note to @MaryMays, many of the landscape reports (e.g. Quarterly Tax Report, ACA ALE Report, etc) can successfully be made portrait by changing Arial to SageReporting font and on column headings changing Arial Bold to Open Sans Condensed in bold. This is a Sage practice already in place in some multi-column IM and JC reports. The IM Sales History Rpt is a good example (and also please omit my name when making the suggestion :)

A little birdie mentioned to me...I'll keep your name out of it, thank you @AlnoorCassim I'll also omit the JC info too. It would be an obvious clue.

Hi Moira - so glad to be a part of this group! Since I missed the first session, and I have a State of Oregon Unemployment meeting (ick) on Friday at the same time as this second session, I wondered if anyone had asked Sage why they didn't put ""search by name"" in Payroll, as they did in other modules (where you can start typing the name of the employee and a list appears automatically). Second question is to have the ability in Payroll options to have a default bank code and in Bank code maintenance to have a default check form code similar to Accounts Payable. And third question: Employer Contributions (Deductions) by department worked. The screen should allow for the Contribution expense account to have an account number to be entered to expense a deduction set up in deduction code maintenance by department. All three of these are posted on the ""vote"" screen for new features - just not sure why they were not included in Version 2.0. Would you ask if they will be adding these? Thanks!

From time to time, we are in a position to invite industry insiders to share information and hear from our membership. These meetings are a special benefit intended for 90 Minds Socialcast Members only. We can attract and engage these insiders due to the unique nature of our group and reputation to maintain the strictest of confidentially. 90 Minds hosts other events that are shared with the broader 90 Minds membership and welcome all members of 90 Minds member firms, whether they have a paid Socialcast license or not, to attend. We consider these to be a 90 Minds member benefit but do not require the same level of confidentiality. The Sage Development Roundtables are 90 Minds Socialcast Member-only events. We worked with the Sage Development team to determine the best way to allow an open dialog without requiring extensive work obtaining and tracking non-disclosure agreements from all attendees and their liability. We concluded that a closed, non-recorded event, would be the best solution. What happens at these events stays in 90 Minds and disclosure to anyone outside of members of 90 Minds can result in membership termination. We will monitor registration for this and future roundtables going forward and will cancel any registrant that is not a 90 Minds Socialcast member. You are to not share the registration information with anyone.

Not sure if this was already discovered and mentioned. I just did my first live upgrade for payroll 2018 and we are running our first payroll, and we noticed some things were off with the taxes. One thing to keep in mind when assigning tax codes to deduction maintenance. If you have a 401k plan that needs to be pre-tax, do not use the tax rule ""Section 401(k) EE deduction"" as it will not do pre-tax and it will tax on the deduction. Use the ""Section 125 Code DD EE Deduction"" tax rule. This will make it pre-tax deduction. The rule has the wrong definition for a 401K though. Box DD and EE (attached) are not the correct classification and the plan should be box D but if you choose the 805002 tax rule, it taxes. I didn't see any other tax rules that would apply.

I submitted a list of questions to them, and will try to remember this one - if I forget to ask @PhilMcIntosh please make sure you post it on the Q&A area. Thank you.

Link for feedback request on PR user guide. Sage mentioned that if the guide is popular they'll product them for other modules. https://sagecity.na.sage.com/support_communities/sage100_erp/f/sage-100-time-tracking-and-job-cost-modules/107990/feedback-request-for-payroll-user-guide

@ErinOldaker - If we use the Section 125 Deduction tax rule instead of the 401k EE Tax Rule, won't that also make FICA and Medicare non-taxable? Which isn't right for a 401K plan...

@SueBennett you are correct. In the old payroll you can mark to make taxable and what to reduce from the deduction code. I havent seen that anywhere in the new payroll. But this is the only deduction/ tax rule that will reduce the gross pay with the deduction amount. I talked to Sage and they have no idea what the definition of the tax rules are either. They have it on their list of things that end users are asking for... I dont know how long until they provide that. Sage said just go through each tax rule and test it to see what it does! HA you are freaking kidding me!!!

Sage engineers have ideas on how to provide the tax rule information and understand how important it is that we have access to it. It's convincing some of the people who were on our call this morning of the importance/high priority so the engineers can start working on it. They need us to all vote for the list of tax rules and keep the pressure on to get this done. Vote and have everyone in your office who has a login for the ideas site vote too.

Any news on having access to the 2018 Payroll Tax Flags yet? We're still struggling with Payroll Level 2018 because we have ""tax exceptions"" that don't seem to be handled by the outside tax processor. Before we upgrade more folks to Payroll 2018, we're hoping to have more control over the applicable taxes. And sadly, for folks that are located in Oregon, Sage is not going to add the newly mandated July 1st Transit Tax, which is .1% of each and every employee's gross earnings, to either v 2016 or v 2017. We have a workaround (created by us!) but it was still sad to hear Sage won't do any programming for those two Sage supported versions - the Transit Tax will only be added to v 2018. Sigh.

I am about ready to tell my customers with payroll that Sage 100 no longer offers a viable, trustworthy payroll module and they should find a different payroll solution. 2018 is still very much a beta product and they won't support the older version anymore.

I'm telling users on Sage 100 2016 that they have one last year to receive tax tables then they'll have to make a decision.

Thanks Moira - I think it must be hiding, but we can't find an option for EIC...or status for EIC...

I searched also and can't find anything for EIC. I thought it might have been eliminated with the new tax law but I can't find anything on that either.
