@PeterWolf - see this link. You should register and also check out how these folks are managing the sessions.

I am not as interested in the GotoWebinar aspect - though if they seem to be able to manage it smoothly perhaps an exhibit like this is as easy as having 12 separate GotoWebinars that are linked via some type of dashboard for participants. I'm curious about: - Level of engagement pre and post event (That's what will be most valuable) - How they manage notifications (are these just marketing emails) - What's the post event engagement

Yep. This stuff is happening all over. Gail Perry @ accountingweb is doing one towards the end of the year as well. I have been talking to her about the mechanics and structure. When I have more details, I will post them here.

Also ... as I suspected ... if you do it right, vendors will subsidize the entire virutal conference cost and participant investment is limited to prep time and elbow grease.

@PeterWolf I don't doubt vendors will subsidize - the real secret in my view is to have an engaged audience that will come back quarterly, semi-annually and that you are ""sold out"" of being able to allow vendors to participate. Also I expect a royalty when you rip my idea off

Hmm, what about a 90minds virtual conference. Get a few sponsers to pay (cost isn't that much). The key would be for every member to highly promote. Best way would be to use a mailchimp like service to do the blasting to the end users. If members don't trust us with their contacts, we could hire a 3rd party that specializes in confidentially accepting and protecting the customer data and doing the email/marketing blasts. Expecting the members to do the blasts themselves would be barking up the wrong tree. Wonder how many end users we have among all 90minds and oasis members

@MarkChinsky I think @PeterWolf is working on something similar. In general as a group 90 Minds has not had a great deal of success or interest in working together on much beyond solving our old pal error 47. May be time to have a separate sub-group and unless anyone has a better idea use dues as a way to separate the lookers from the doers. If you open it up for free everyone raises their hand and wants to join and it's the same few people doing anything.
