Perhaps I'm crazy but I think Sage should have approached 100c with: - 90 day opt-in free trial of UI improvements (No access to 3rd party bolt-on benefits) - Give customers access to screen scaling (bigger fonts) - make this 100c only - In advance - provide partners/customers a definitive list of what is unique to 100c - also display this in-app - At the end of the ""trial"" provide way to migrate online via credit card for the same $ as existing maintenance - make offer that maintenance stays same for x years I think this would make migrations a lot easier to sell. Even today I have a difficult time getting a clear list from Sage of what the 100c only benefits are. I have no idea why they packaged in screen scaling (bigger fonts) as a 100 feature because even though that seems like a small thing a large portion of the aging user base is excited being able to see the screen. Having scaling be a 100c only feature and migrating existing users at the same maintenance would have been a pretty easy sell for a large number of customers.

On a related note, I see TeamViewer who used to the the last holdout of selling you the software and then selling you a new version upgrade (without a penalty for missing versions like how MAS90 used to be in the 90's) is gone. They now let you use the version you are on 'forever', but as soon as you want to upgrade, you have to move to an annual subscription model.

TOTALLY agree re scaling. I could not believe it when they included that in 100.

Initially, the Sage KB indicated scaling was a 100c only feature. I think maybe someone messed up. Maybe some of this is rearview mirror analysis on my part. it sure seems like if it was someone's job to market this that they should have been considering industry best practices. My conclusion is that Sage still has a lot of silos and marketing is running as one speed while development and R&D has a different pace.

Unless client is on STD and could benefit from ADV **AND** they can migrate at no additional cost, I just can't get excited about it. Nor can I generate any excitement for the client. Yes, someone might benefit from multi bin someday. I think the key to moving is **NO ADDITIONAL** cost. I had a client in August that looked at it but there was no ""promotion"" at the time. Upcharge was nearly 4K. All for Scaling??

Sage's What's New in 2018 doc doesn't specify what is 100 and what is 100c.
