I've seen that when there are multiple .pdf readers installed on the workstation. Look for that and delete any you can. I believe at one point a Sage KB article recommended uninstalling the version of Adobe installed and install from the Sage prerequisites.
In one instance it was an issue where the Sage 100 pdf converter was using the same port settings as OneNote. The client wasn't using OneNote so we deleted that printer and everything worked fine.
