    Has anyone worked with PDF DataNet ( or similar ) which is a product that reads in a PDF of a PO or SO and automatically creates a CSV ( or similar file format ) ready for import through Visual Integrator?

    I met with Andrew Price today who I ran into on Sage City. He spent about 1/2 hour showing me how their product works. 
    It reminds me a lot of the old Monarch product which essentially let us take data files, paint fields and then export out the fields into a worksheet.

    The use case for something like this: 

    NOW: Data entry clerk receives orders ( PO from their customer ) which in turn they have to type into Sage 100 as a Sales Order.
    With PDF DataNet:  the PDF is read automatically ( Andrew demoed drag/dropped the pdf into a folder and it was automatically exported to CSV )



    I'm curious if anyone has tried this particular solution - or something similar.

    Maybe even more importantly - I'm curious if customers actually want to pay for this type of solution.

    I have had customers in the past come to me with these types of requests and it seems to be mostly those who are receiving 30+ page PDF files that are interested.

    They have pricing on their website and it seems like for a typical Sage 100 it would be around $4,000 first year and $1,000 each subsequent year.

    The price seems reasonable though I've learned that unless the customer has a pain that they want to solve that most won't take a look.

    Has anyone tackled this PDF to Sage Order processing a different way?

    That price point seems to be above what I see for my typical Sage install.

    The first thing I told them is that just because I think it's cool technology - nobody is buying this unless it's resolving a big enough pain for them. I have a significant number of customers who wouldn't buy this just because it's a little more efficient than re-keying ( they just tell their order entry people to key the orders which is what they pay them for ). 

    I've had some customers ask for something like this - it's usually when the orders are 30+ pages or the volume is increasing to the point where $4,0000 a year is cheaper than a $xx,xxxx additional data entry person.
