PC Charge issue client is on 4.4 they've been using PC Charge for years and I can usually fix issues. this one is going to require a call to PC Charge support unless someone else has an idea. (I'm fearful PC Charge won't help unless we upgrade to a version the doesn't work with their version of MAS200. but I'm on hold now while the client renews their support agreement to find out. The users keep getting message ""the payment server returned a response of ""Invalid TroutD"" some pre-authorizations randomly go through. the IT staff tried to move one of the PC Charge clients and ""tried to move the PC Charge certificate"" to the new workstation but kept getting an error, so they gave up. PC Charge is great when it works but when it doesn't..................

Isn't the TroutD number assigned to transactions/authorizations? It's been a while since I worked with PC Charge but is that a number you can change in Setups? Did it somehow get mixed up? (Think of next invoice number in Sage 100.)

One would think that since v4.4 is still supported by Sage that PC Charge should fix these issues....

the good news is that the PC Charge version they have IS supported (whew!) I think we resolved the issue and in case anyone else searches on this, here is what we found. The IT staff had launched the PC Charge payment server a second time using an RDP connection. You can't have PC Charge running twice, it confuses the heck out of itself and Sage100 while assigning and updating those TroutD numbers. I knew it can't be running under 2 different logins. If I had looked in task manager I would have seen the active charge executable running twice. and could have saved myself a whole lot of frustration over this. The fun part was the level one tech who first tried to push me off to Sage then after 45 minutes she suggested that I call the Merchant Service Provider. REALLY????

Interfacing with PC Charge and Sage is a nightmare. Not sure how they handle it now but you used to be forced to call Sage first then they called PC Charge. It was a giant game of monkey in the middle. I've stopped calling Sage and just advise customers they need to buy the PC Charge support for a couple hundred bucks and call PC Charge direct. And as David says - half the time PC Charge wants to upgrade you to the latest version before even talking about the issue.
