**Payroll Tiers Announcement Today - 2/1/16 - 1pm ET - POSTPONED**
**Sage unexpectedly postponed their 2/1/16 channel wide announcement**
Sage is expected to announce a new maintenance package for Payroll which they've previously termed ""payroll tiers"". Expect expiring registration keys and a fee that's tiered based on the number of employees in a company. Previously Sage also bundled in Direct Deposit as an added benefit.
This is Sage's second swing at unveiling this type of payroll price increase. The first, on September 18, 2015, was widely panned as expensive. Partners has many questions about how the program would be implemented for customers who had many employees - especially employees that might be seasonal, temporary or subject to high turnover.
Sage postponed the initial implementation and went back to the drawing board.
This revised plan appears to spare Canada (I think they are missing some things such as ACH and DD which may have made justifying the added expense more difficult).
Sage will also discuss this at MOTM 2016 in San Diego in a little over two weeks.
Payroll is very high on the list of strategic initiatives for Sage UK. It's unlikely therefore that Sage NA has much control over whether this is implemented though they likely have some control over the program details.
