Does anyone have a freebie website that would assist in calculating a Net Check for Payroll; you can suggest.  Today my client needs to pay an employee a $ 2,000 Net Bonus Check, and it is tedious to test and try and come up with the exact amount for her to enter as the Bonus Amount.  Any ideas you can offer would be appreciated.  (and talk to me like I'm in elementary school; I don't normally take Payroll Questions).

If they know the Fed and State tax rates, the formula should be 2000 / (1-total tax rate)

So if the Fed tax rate is 20 and SS + Medicare is 7.45, then (ignoring state), the amount would be 2000 / (1 - .2745) or

    2000 / (.7255) or 2756.72.

@Jim Woodhead - Nice, but does that do a gross up starting with a net check?  I probably am overlooking something.
