When installing new Sage 100 2018 with Payroll 2.x, a parallel migration is required. Typically one would migrate the MAS_SYSTEM information followed by one or more companies MAS_XXX. A test conversion would be run on one of the companies. There are several mapping files that are created during the Payroll conversion wizard. These tables are located in the MAS90/Home/Textout directory and are named XXXDepartmentPreConversion.txt, XXXFilingStatusPreConversion.txt, XXXTaxGroupPreConversion.txt, XXXTaxProfilePreConversion.txt (where XXX = company code being converted). These tables are used to save off the mappings in case the conversion wizard is cancelled out of during the conversion, and the user restarts the conversion it will have the mappings last entered. These tables could be used for subsequent companies (if applicable), but they would need to be saved off prior to completion of the conversion wizard. This would alleviate having to re-map similar subsequent companies, especially for things that are likely to be the same such as tax codes, filing statuses and tax profiles. The XXX portion of the table name would need to re-named with the next company being converted.

Ok, thanks! I thought there were specific files under the MAS_XXX data file to save before remigrating and converting.

Am I interpreting this properly? When doing an upgrade for a company who uses payroll on **a version prior to 2018** that you can't do the migrate once then copy the MAS_XXX data files on the go-live day? This also seems to apply to all subsequent upgrades. **With non-payroll upgrades:** - Migrate - Test convert - Go live: Copy MAS_XXX and convert **With payroll upgrades** - Migrate - Test convert - Go live: Re-Migrate (cannot just copy/paste the MAS_XXX data folder) - Follow instructions from the attached PDF to reduce steps for conversion
