Sage 100

Just had a client on 2020 payroll version 2.20.1 (I think) that had a normal payroll run which ended up duplicating every entry.

The CHECK and DD REGISTERs look fine.

If you look on each employee, you see 2 lines for each DD or check, same number both times, same amounts.

The ACH file is twice as large as it should be.

They are reversing right now, but when they reverse only the amount of one check comes up, so they will just reverse once and totals should be OK.

Anyone else experienced this?

Yep, welcome to the "You've been duped on" club.  Happened to a client about a month ago.  Luckily, only about five payments were involved.  Be on your toes regarding the GL posting.  As I recall with client, the post from the first round was correct so we have to delete void entry before updating to the GL.  Not sure what happened.  It wasn't freaky Friday when the first PR was generated.  FWIW, this client runs Sage v2020 on a standalone workstation with PR v2.20.2.

Is this related to doubled-up state payroll taxes?  I think Sage mentioned somewhere that could happen if you set both a resident AND non-resident tax in Tax Profile Maintenance.
