  • 1.  Payroll: CT Paid Leave Act

    The state of Connecticut has a new paid leave act which is funded by deductions from an employee paycheck.

    The funding to support the CTPL program will come in the form of employee payroll deductions beginning January 1, 2021. These payroll deductions are capped at 0.5% and there is no employer match.

    Note: Because contributions are only based on earnings up to the Social Security cap, this requires estimations in some instances.



      Any suggestions on how this would be setup? Since it involves a cap tied to SS wages it seems like more than a regular deduction.

      I would expect something from Sage for PR in the business framework.  Do you still have accounts using the old PR?

      I actually have one old payroll I'm upgrading next week. They don't use the payroll for anything except access to Time Track/Timecard though.

      Since this is a tax, I fully expect it will be an update from the Payroll Tax service.  While it may require a checkbox in the Tax Profile, it definitely should be included there.
