  • 1.  Payroll 2.25 and Sage100 v 2021 SU issue !!!

    I believe we were told that Payroll 2.25 can be installed on versions 2021,2022,2023 and 2024.

    But, on the year-end processing resources page Sage updated on 12/17, it states that:

    Payroll 2.25

    Can be installed on versions 2021.0-2021.2, 2022, 2023, 2024 - Special Attention for states IA others that change the state W4 in the future.

    It limits version 2021 to service updates 0 through 2.

    Does anyone have specific clarification on this from Sage ?

    And the other Sage KB appears to conflict or only contain general information as it shows 2021 being supported for payroll 2.25 with no mention of product update.

    And Sage most certainly has a different idea of what "Supported" means since the 1099 reporting only fully works on 

    Payroll and Accounts Payable 1099 compatibility for Sage 100 for tax year 2024

    To receive changes to 1099s, users must be on the latest product updates 2024.1 (7.30.1) & 2023.4 (7.20.4).  The 1099 Individual Type Name fields in Vendor Maintenance Additional Tab have been separated into 3 fields - First, Middle, Last.

    Sage 100 version 2022.6 (7.10.6) The 1099 name field is all one field.  The 1099s on this version will need to be edited in the Aatrix Preparer Grid for users needing the 1099 name.

    In summary, I believe this is what Sage's supported version policy is today 

    As of Dec 20, 2024 Sage maintains the following policies. Sage's definition of support may include product updates, and it can change without notice. Always confirm the versions and specific product update levels, as these policies are subject to change.

     

    The Sage knowledgebase outlines the currently supported versions as well. In the past this has been sporadically updated.

    Sage 100 Product

     

    N–2

    Sage 100 officially supports the current and two preceding versions. With each new version's release, the oldest version is retired. For example, version 2021 was retired when version 2024 was released in April 2024.

    As of 2024, Sage has increasingly required a signed pre-release from the customer (often requested through the partner) for product fixes or patches outside of product updates.

    N-3

    Sage 100 Payroll will support N-3 versions in 2024. Specific product update levels may not be covered, so it is crucial to review release notes or inquire beforehand to determine exact version and product update compatibility.

    Clarification from Sage:

    You can install on 2021-2024. However, there is a display bug in P/R Employee Maintenance at version 2021PU3-PU6. It is just an issue with how the grid titles display on that Taxes tab. There is a workaround below or you can upgrade. 

    Copy SY_GridHandler.pvc from 2021, no PU. The fix for DE113430 won't be in that program.
