Payroll 2018 - there is a problem with Tip Expense Reporting in V 2018. Sage has acknowledged it, but can't fix it because it messes up other things with the Tax Profiles. Specifically, if you have employees that move from department to department in a pay period, the departmental expense postings on the employer allocations for tips are - here comes a technical word - hosed. Plus, for folks that do use Allocated Tips, if you enter Allocated Tips (which are based on Sales Amounts), then add more folks to the payroll after doing Payroll Tax Calculation, the Sales Amounts you entered ""disappear"". We are also having major problems with one of our test upgrades, who happens to have workers in Ohio. Has anyone in this group successfully been able to convert existing Payroll data for Ohio taxes to v 2018 and have the taxes all fall into the correct categories (City Tax/School District/Other Withholding Tax?) And have the corresponding wages come over - some should be withholding wages and other gross wages depending on the type of tax - again, City, School District, or other?

Can't fix it now or won't fix it forever?

They say there is indeed a fix, but when they install it, it messes up other things in the Tax Profile. They're hoping to have the fix out, with the corresponding Tax Profiles not being messed up, in September. Or maybe October. Or...
