Payroll 2.0. Payroll for Sage 100 is being updated to Framework. It will have some additional features and expanded field lengths. Tangible progress has been made. This is not vapor ware. It won't address garnishments. Expected release within the next 12 months. Undetermined if it will be limited to 100c. My opinion is with the introduction of tiers and greater revenue from payroll, it will be in both 100 and 100c.

We emailed after the webinar to see if the updated Framework would only be available in 100c and have not received a reply.

@MyronStevenson I don't understand your comment about garnishments. I've set up garnishments for PR users in the past with the existing module. Are you saying they are taking out a feature in new PR?

Garnishments - What you'll have is what you have now. A frequently requested enhancement is to handle the remitting and accounting for the garnishment. This won't be added. Also calculation of the garnishments - some court ordered garnishments have specific calculations that are more than a percent of gross or net wages. You won't be able to setup the calculation of these types of garnishments.

Got it...and obviously Sage didn't get it.

Garnishments can be quite complicated and if you have a significant number of them, it is quite the PITA. This is a reason 8 years ago I lead with HRMS PR from Abra. Company needed a way to gross up wages for employees making less than minimum plus they had a boat load of garnishments. The gross wages were easily solved but client still struggles with garnishments. It would be great if Sage opened up a formula field to allow override of the standard garnishment deduction.
