Payroll 2.0 is on the Roadmap for release next month. Will it be available for 2017? Is it bundled in a PU or a separate install? Can customers elect to keep their existing PR? Anyone here using/testing the preview release?

It will only be available in 2018. I've got the preview release.

Customers can keep their current version until they upgrade to 2018 or higher. The unbundling I think is scheduled at the 2018 release, meaning in the future, you could upgrade just payroll and not the rest of your modules, as long as you are on at least 2018.

With the speed at which Sage is dropping support for older versions this is probably not as big an issue - unless you have third party solutions making an upgrade problematic. Q: Does Sage have a timeline for when they will drop the support for 2017 TTU, etc?

@WayneSchulz the EOL is 12/31/2019 for v2017 TTUs and year end IRD updates

Sage released the Pre-Release version of Sage 100 2018 to the Sage MD's this morning. That often happens about a month ahead of the release.

@LeeGraham does 2018 have JC now in framework?

@KathrynScofield We just asked Sage about TC and JC and they said this.... Time Card will be available in the 2018.1 release (Feb 2018). Job Cost is available in the 2018.0 release (Oct 20, 2017).

@JennySearl did you mean October 2017?

  • 11.  RE: Payroll 2.0 is on the Roadmap for release next mon

    Right, I changed it.

@JennySearl , Does this mean TC will be available in 2018.0 but legacy OR does this mean TC will not be available at all in 2018.0 until placed in 2018.1 in framework. I suspect the former but did not know if you had confirmed and I could use the clarity for a client.

@LarryBradford They said if you have TC you should not upgrade to 2018.0. You should wait for 2018.1.

Sounds like ""should"" means ""must"". :)

:) Linda mentioned it twice in the 2018.0 What's New webinar but said ""need"" once and ""might"" the other time. I just emailed her and she confirmed they ""must"" if they are using TC with PR or JC.

So aside from PR and JC finally getting on board, is there ANYTHING (e.g. Crystal v2016) that makes this worth writing home about. Is there sizzle?

Inactive warehouses, spell check in Memos and Comments, nice update to BarCode module which includes free app for physical count to all users who own BC and Mobile Sales app to 100C. 5 users each app.

The only thing 100 gets out of it is the physical count with BarCode.

@BethBowers Thanks. Would you start using it to upgrade non PR brave souls based on your extensive testing??

Everything else seemed OK, but I wouldn't call it EXTENSIVE. The Crystal 2016 at the last minute is pretty annoying and could cause issues. If I had someone on AP/AR/GL, I would feel pretty safe. They are supposed to have a payroll update out in December, not waiting until Feb when TC comes out. I would NOT do payroll before that first Dec update, no matter how small the client is. One of my beta testers is probably going to go live on it, but he's a brave soul and knows all of the bad things because he tested the every loving crap out of it.

@BethBowers , that is wonderful you have clients willing to invest the time to do that testing.

I agree, @LarryBradford - Sage owes him big time. I don't think they had all that many beta testers. On one call, there were 3 and 2 were mine.

Well hopefully they give him a Golden Ticket to Summit next May. Maybe even give him a testimonial video on the big stage....
