Is there an definitive "what you can and can't do in the new payroll 2.0"
Client is asking "Can I do all the payrolls for the rest of the year now, closing each quarter, and then later reopen the quarters, print all the reports, including aatrix reports?" Yes, she really did ask this. lol.
From what I have tested:
The quarter the payroll falls into is based on the period end date.
Reports (not sure how many) can be printed for any quarter - much like GL periods.
Aatrix reports can be re-run for prior periods.
Quarters can be re-opened, although not sure why that would be necessary, since quarters don't seem to behave like closed GL periods preventing posting.
Try to post too far into the future and you get a message cannot calculate taxes that far from current date. Not sure how far is too far.
Am I warm?
I am thinking maybe she can do many payrolls ahead of time, but not do period end, run the reports on time and if there are prior quarter changes file amendments like you would always have to do.
Other ideas?
