  • 1.  PAYA Not Connecting with Sage100

    We have a hosted customer trying to come onto our platform with Sage 100 version 2013 along with PAYA and some other add-ons.  Everything installed smoothly but PAYA is not connecting with Sage 100. 

    • We have had PAYA support on the phone, but they do not know the Sage 100 integration
    • They chose to use Sage100 Advanced even though it is a 3 user system on a single server.  We have asked for installation of standard as a solution as the application will connect when started through the PVX shell (MAS 90 Mode).
    • The application engine is running with a service account that has full rights to all necessary folders.  We have even logged onto the server with that account to test running both the client and the PAYA desktop app as the service in addition to the Application Engine.
    • The SDK module in installed (PAYA requirement for older versions)
    Anybody seen anything like this previously?

    We have also recommended an upgrade, but the client has many custom components and is concerned about the cost for re-programming.

    Shot in the dark. If I remember correctly the SOAP endpoints in the integration actually used IExplore.exe. So try logging on to server's desktop using the Sage App Server service account again. Make sure the Paya desktop app starts (and be sure to update it if it says an update is available as this can definitely block requests).

    Now simply try to start Internet Explorer. Is IE Enhanced Security Configuration enabled? If so turn it off (using the correct steps - it's not just a matter of unchecking it in Server Manager).

    If not, maybe you have to complete the 1st time IE user start up process for the Windows user you're logged in as, perhaps. Also the test endpoint in the integration is www.na.sage.com:80 so try to enter that in IE as well. Nothing should actually happen in the browser, rather you're just checking to see if an error occurred (bad) or if redirects to the Sage NA corporate site (good). Hope that helps.

    We typically do not use the service on a single machine configuration (typically install Standard), so the template does not have they Sage100 service account used as a member of the local admins.   We updated that and are waiting for the customer to test as we do not have credentials to their environment for testing.

    The ultimate fix included running the application engine as an application and not a service from the console with a user (service account) with elevated permissions.
