Partner Rally DayWhy is Sage advertising this eve

Partner Rally Day Why is Sage advertising this event in Chicago next week to all partners? Do they think people from places like LA are going to hop on a plane for Chicago? Just to spend time with Sage execs that I have already met and will see at Summit? It's a ""free"" event, but unless plane tickets and hotels are free, it's not. I don't really care - just thought it was a good thing to rant against.

I am only a 2 hour drive and trying to figure out how to make it work. They want you to spend 4 hours listening to them, then 2 hour reception then a 3 hour game which ends at 10 pm then I would have a 2 hour drive back home. Would force a stay over if I planned on drinking. You think they could have found an afternoon game.

You could take Uber. Then you could do whatever you want at the game ;-)

I think this is going to be a pitch to invite customers to Summit. There also seems to be a promise that other partner rally days will be happening between now and Summit. And John mentions hanging out with Sage execs. Anyone ever done so and felt it was meaningful (BPAC is great but let's be candid - those are basically paid junkets to bribe the top VARS into not completely hating Sage) .. Better yet - anyone ever made a suggestion to any execs that resulted in material change?

@KellySappington I'm a 3 hour drive, so I'll pick you up on my way to the ball park. You can drink all you want at the game, I'll be your designated driver. But, when I drop you at your front doorstep, at 1:00 am, please ask your husband to keep the double barrel shotgun in the front hall closet. Been there, done that!!!

You know - back in your college days - show up at a ""kegger party"". Some girl has way too much to drink, be Mister Nice Guy and drive them home. But at 1:00 am mom and dad are not interested in hearing that you really are a ""nice guy""......gotta go, bye!!!!

I'm barely interested in attending Summit this year and I live in Chicago. This event doesn't even register on my enthusiasm level except if I could show up late and go to the game and get free booze. Who doesn't like free booze?

I am not going - heck most of the staff there might be gone by the time Summit arrives.

That's a terrific point @JohnnyPabian. I've developed a recent theory that the people Sage is most inclined to put in front of the channel and the customers are those who can follow the corporate script the longest without losing their lunch.

But I will be there and I am aware of partners coming in from other regions of the U.S.

Decided not to go, just too long of a day and too much work to finish here. Not very warm either :)
