I keep hitting an issue with both OM and PM and I'm hoping someone has a work around or at least an explanation that clients accept. I have had several clients want to issue all their material for a work ticket at the beginning of their ticket and then want to do partial completions. They are resistant to budgets because either they can't remember to click the button or their costs are wild, and they don't like the standard cost option either. So that leaves us with Actual Costs to Date in OM and Actual costing method in PM. But using this costing method means that the first partial completion gets all the WIP and the later completions have none of the WIP. Is there anything I'm missing here? and if that is all working as designed, has anyone had clients trying to do this and you provided an explanation that made them see the reasons behind it and accept it? It's especially difficult for clients coming from WO because WO had some logic that handled the partial completion a bit differently. Thanks for any insight!
