Parallel install of 2013 breaks function of Paperless Electronic Delivery (ChilKat).
If you run a live version of 4.x with the new 5.x (2013) you might notice that Paperless Electronic Delivery doesn't work. At least that is what happened to me. Sage updated ChilKat to a newer version and you would think that it would be backwards compatible with the old version. In my recent upgrade I found that it would not work in their 4.x live version any longer. It kept showing a login failure. It tried to Auth LOGIN and failed with any user name I used. Checked settings on Server and with Sage 100.
ChilKat dll files are located in the Common Files\Sage\Common Components\ folder.
ChilkatCert.dll
ChilkatMail2.dll
ChilkatUtil.dll
If trying to run old live with new version for testing before converting live you must move these out (date 8/2/2012) with the ones from the prior version. In my case it was 4.4 and the date was 3/14/2008. You will then need to run regsvr32 for all the Dll files and then you are back in business. Just don't forget to switch back after you go live. We found the same issue in past versions with PVXIO.dll and PVXODBC.dll. Sage is starting to make it very hard to have more than one install on the server for any length of time. Even though they force you to have parallel migration they don't believe it should be on the same server. Anyone else running into this? Sage Advisor is another case where it will break when you install the next version for an upgrade. I pointed that out to them at the symposium. Once you install 2014, the advisor will be updated to look at the new install (at least this is what I believe after seeing how it works and talking with them on how it figures out where the install is located). All the stats they will collect from that point will be for a test system. Update notices will be only for the test system.
