  • 1.  Paperless PDFs not automatically opening

I have a strange issue at a client regarding PDFs.

We recently upgraded from V2019 to Sage 2022 SP2 with 64 bit on a new server.

On all the computers the paperless office journals and registers  are not automatically opening as before, They are getting created and you can open all .PDFs files without any warning message or popups.

We have tried various PDF readers of Edge, Foxit, and 2 versions of Adobe.
I have done a few uninstall/ re-installs of the workstations.
Shares and security on the ..\Acct\  which contains the MAS90 folder is set to Full Control for all users.

If I run in MAS90 mode as the Administrator, the PDFs automatically opens. However, in the normal mode, nothing will automatically open. This implies to me that is the network related, however, nothing changed on the workstation.

The Sage service is running under the domain Administrator (same as the old version service account).

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thank  you
    Michael

I'm sure the 64-bit has nothing to do with it, lolol.  It sounds like it may be permissions-related if it's working under Administrator.  As a test just grant one of those users the same rights as the Administrator.

Yea, silly me for even trying the 64 bit thing. I figure a new server, no other versions here, what could possible go wrong.

The user is a part of the local administrator group too. I can see if we can update one of the users to a domain administrator account.

    Thank you

    Michael

Got some more clarity this morning.

The PDFs that are password protected are not opening up automatically.

If we change paperless office setup to "No password" on the Payroll journals and registers, then the PDFs open up.

If we are on Password Protect to either "Prompt or Yes " then the PDF do not open unless in MAS90 mode.

    Thank you
