Paperless on Azure - moved our company Sage 100 St

Paperless on Azure - moved our company Sage 100 Standard to Azure Windows Server VM. There is just one VM - only two of us so no need for server and TS. All working well except for Paperless. I changed the path using Marcos' utility to \\localhost\Paperless, and the existing documents show up and can be opened and emailed. I can manually create and delete files in that directory. However, creating new documents via Paperless gives the error ""The directory in P/L Form Maintenance is invalid or not accessible from this workstation"". I have been through all the checks in KB20062, and given Everyone full control on the Amunyi printer, but I am still getting the error.

If it's just one VM, can you try the local drive letter instead of the UNC? Do you have Write permissions to the Paperless folder?

I started with that but got the same error. Definitely have write permissions in the Paperless folder.

Is the server what you are using as a workstation? If not, localhost may be pointing at the workstation (which won't have that share).

Just one VM - no separate workstation

Along lines of what @SteveIwanowski said, on Advanced / Premium, the path for Paperless journals, forms, reports, etc are validated from the Sage service account. So: 1) Does it work Mas90 style? 2) Does the acct running Sage service (not the account you're logged into the desktop with) have permissions to that folder? 3) Sounds like you covered this already but that old thing about Sage service needing to be domain acct instead of local machine acct or LocalSystem so that UNCs can execute from server.

It is Standard - no service involved. The viewer can find and open the files, but the printing says it can't find the directory, whether set up as C:\Sage\Paperless\ or \\localhost\Paperless\. Write and modify privileges work for me creating/editing/deleting files.

I'm assuming you checked the PL settings table to make sure there isn't a bad row of data somewhere? (We've seen weird things happen with a rogue blank row in different tables). Deleting / re-creating the PL settings entry may be worth a try. (My only other thought would be a reboot / check the print spooler service...).

Well, I found a row in PL_Forms with a bad company code field, but deleting that didn't help. restarting the print spooler also had no effect Tried statement printing (problem had been with sales order printing), and that worked. Deleted and recreated the Sales Order Form setup, and that now works as well. Thanks everyone!

Probably an invisible character found it's way into the field. (Copy paste from Excel is terrible for that). Glad you were able to get it working!

I have a client whose IT company is now pushing to create a VM in Azure running Server 2019.  They use Sage 100 Advanced with 20 users.  I will be upgrading them from version 2016 to version 2019.  Anyone still having issues with Azure?  Recommendations?
