paperless office problem We host a fair number of our customer's web sites and email. We have been using Hostcentric for the last 15 years or so but discovered that we could get a few more features from Hostgator. So we transferred 3 of our customer to Hostgator as a test and immediately Paperless Office stopped working. It appears that whatever program Sage uses to send Paperless Office has a security flaw and Hostgator's sysytem will not process the email. There is no bounce back, error message - the emails just go off into lala land. Sage 100 says the email was successful. Does anyone know if any of your Customers use Hostgator as the host successfully with Paperless Office?

So what is Hostgator's explanation as to the reason for the blockage?

Have you tried different e-mail account credentials to see if that has any impact?

Hostgator says this... ""It appears the software you are using (Sage100 Paperless Office) contains the chillkat mailer. This mail from this mailing tool/software is dropped on our network due to a history of abuse.

That makes sense. Spammers would use a tool like Chillkat.

You could try and setup an intermediary server like hMailServer. It's a freebie. Just configure it as a gateway, and have it forward messages through Host Gator.

This is correct. The Paperless emailing itself is done via ChilkatMail. It's the lesser known 3rd party product Paperless uses (Amyuni PDF Converter being the more known). It's actually a great product for developers (provided you have most recent version unlike Mas) because its an easy hook to tie your app into. History of abuse yes that's true but I would fight it with them.

Unless Hostgator is shutting down SMTP because too many messages are going through in a set time period

The problem is now fixed. Hostgator had to manually whitelist each domain name.
