OMG, I am so excited to get this to work. Short answer is yes, when I print multi-part only one copy goes out in email. but it completely ignores the shadow text on the PDF/emailed form. That works though as I can edit crystal to suppress if the shadow text is not null. therefore the price is suppressed on the printed form, but it does print on the emailed form.
As I was testing, this all seemed familiar and I'm wondering if there is a previous thread. so I am going to write this up with more detail and post it here.

@Doug Higgs I have not, but good idea, if you printed 5 copies using multi-part, you would not want all 5 emailed. I will see if I can test that.
@Tara Schinkel Never be sorry for chiming in any idea is worth considering and seems like it still has possibilities.

@David Overholt Did you test to see what multi-part form gets emailed? Maybe paperless office always emails the first copy specified in the multi-part line, or always emails the second copy specified in the multi-part line.

Tara,
I thought about multi-part too, I don't know any way to tell one copy to get emailed and the other copy to get print to a printer?

I believe you can do this using multi part form and the shadow text features as the conditional suppression (on the price fields).
