Paperless email log?

    I fear the answer is no but is there any log of emails that got sent for invoices???

    For those clients that really need this, we create a cc: mailbox and added that to all customers who received electronic invoices.

    I recommend using smtp2go with paperless office. It keeps a great log and provides really good reports on bounces,opens, etc. Especially if the user doesnt have a ton of emails they may be able to use the free version

    If you use SendGrid you can see if it was delivered and if they have opened it. This has been handy.

    They're claiming people got emails that shouldn't have, i.e. they are not set up in PL. After I posted this, she looked at one customer and viewed the email address in the customer viewer and the PL setup for invoices and they were incorrect addresses so that's not a PL issue. She is going to look for more (they said several people got emails they should not have). My question was more along the lines of is there ANY sort of log? I am guessing not.

    No there is not a log but this was an enhancement we were looking at for paperless. If there is enough interest we might do it like we did our other enhancements for paperless (Advanced HTML, Attachments, Merge Fields, etc).

    Another endorsement for smtptogo.

    If using GMail, Google will not open up their internal logs, but any message sent through SMTP will be stored in the account used to send them and can be found in Sent Mail.

    I use office365 to send paperless documents and the emails automatically go to the Sent folder of the person you designate in the “From” field. I think they added this v2018.

    I have recommended alternate SMTP services many times to users and for some reason, most ( all ) of my customers veto that idea out of security concerns.
