    Client just e-mailed me this morning due to a Paperless e-mailing issue/error (below).  I told them to first check with their IT folks for anything that may have changed since the last time it worked successfully, but I'm wondering if this is indicative of something deeper (i.e. "basic authentication is disabled").

    I don't know if this is relevant, however here are my notes from when I had a customer with a somewhat similar issue.



    Use the Microsoft 365 admin center to enable or disable SMTP AUTH on specific mailboxes
    Open the Microsoft 365 admin center and go to Users > Active users.

    1. Select the user, and in the flyout that appears, click Mail.
    2. In the Email apps section, click Manage email apps.
    3. Verify the Authenticated SMTP setting: unchecked = disabled, checked = enabled.
    4. When you're finished, click Save changes.
