Sage 100

Outside of Custom Office, are there options for multi-language with Sage 100? I have a vague recollection that there was an enhancement available several years ago.

I think DSD has Spanish and French.

I had a client asking for Mandarin for the past decade.

Here's the copy from the X3 site: Sage ERP X3 is configured for ten languages and national legislation requirements in Germany, the USA, Great Britain, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Poland, Russia and China. This gives worldwide users direct access to a standardized system in their native language. Sage ERP X3 processes multilingual data based on the needs of the individual recipient (e.g. description of articles, text for invoices, etc.). All country-specific parameters (customers are located in 53 countries), including legal and market dependent requirements, are centrally mapped in the program to guarantee consistency. Sage ERP X3 makes it easier to share data and processes across multiple company locations and branch offices in foreign countries while taking into account specific applications and regulations.

No one asked, but, yes, US English and UK English are separate languages in X3.

I'm wondering if the Sage parent company is acknowledging us out of respect (US English) or implying theirs is the proper language (UK English). Of course, X3 is out of France, so they don't really understand either of us.

When I setup smartphones US and UK English are often options so I suspect there's some difference.

@JohnHoyt, do you know if X3 in fact supports the ""Mandarin"" language? I see that China is listed, but from what I understand, Mandarin isn't the same as Chinese.

It's probably Cantonese or Mandarin.

I think Southeast Computers has/had MAS90 en Espanol. What I remembered was that it was either or when I looked at it years back.

Fyi, I just received confirmation from Sage that X3 does support Mandarin Chinese.

FYI - SAP Business One supports Chinese as I beleive Dynamics AX and NAV do as well. Perhaps @MarkChinsky can confirm the NAV and AX.

Epicor & SAP B1 both support Chinese, Mandarin & Simplified. I demo'd that to a prospect once and then forgot where the menu options were to change it back since I don't read chinese LOL

I put SAP B1 in Hebrew once and got it back by knowing how far down on the menu stuff was

No vowels or transliteration available in SAP. And then there is sounds and meaning. Other than that....

So kinda like reading the torah then.
