  • 1.  Operations managment 2021 install problem with Microsoft Virtual C++ 2012

    Was working on an upgrade from 2019 to 2021.3 Sage 100 with Operations Managment and had a scary experience that I hope someone might have some input.

    Installed 2021.3,  installed operations mgt for 2021.3.  All good to this point.

    Did workstation install (at server).  Then did op mgt workstation install and it errored out trying to install Microsoft Virtual C++ 2012 (bot x64 and x86) but let me continue.

    At this point I could not log in to 2021.  Hunting around I found some suggestions that the 2021 workstation install was corrupted so did an uninstall and tried again with same results.  Also tried uninstalling the virtual C++ in hopes that workstation install would then cooperate.  No go.

    Then to my horror, I found that the 2019 version was hanging up as well and the C/S ODBC service would not start.  Panic time.

    Eventually I got 2019 working again by uninstalling the 2019 workstation and reinstalling.  As I was working remotely I don't know if individual workstations were affected, but I haven't had any calls this morning.

    I strongly suspect it has to do with the Microsoft Virtual C++ 2012 install failures.  Plan to try again this evening.  Glad I wasn't doing this during the day.

    Any thoughts?

    I'm wondering if I accidentally did a 64 bit install by mistake.
