  • 1.  Operations Management - Work Ticket Template UOM

I'm hoping this is a simple setting I've missed somewhere.  In Work Ticket Template Maintenance > Parts tab,  all items default to using the Sales U/M and the field is greyed out - can't change it. Is there anyway to have the system default to the standard U/M here or let me change it? If not - why? Thanks so much!

Your item relationships need to be established in CI-U/M Conversion; it does not recognize the Standard to Sales U/M Conversion you established on the item master.  I am not noticing that my U/M is grayed out.  I can use the lookup and it presents to me the CI U/M Values.  When an inventory item is selected the sales U/M is assigned.  When the item is added to a WT by linking from PO, the Purchase U/M is assigned.  Chapter 3, of the curriculum (available at portal.jobops.com with a login); include the detail on how this works.  But I don't know why your U/M is gray.  I can change mine.  If you need the manual, LMK.

I'm guessing since WT's are established through a Sales Order, it was decided that was the reasonable U/M to default... I don't agree.

Hi @Madeline Stefanou! Thanks for your help - Can you confirm that you are able to change your UOM in Work Ticket Template Maintenance (as opposed to Work Ticket Entry)? I can change the UOM in Work Ticket Entry but not Template Maintenance which is what the client is using for reporting. The client wanted a report that they can run to show them the total cost of a product before they put it on a work ticket. They wanted to be able to confirm costs and their pricing. They are using the Template Report which is where we run in to this UOM issue. Is there a better place to get that total cost information that I am missing?

in my template maintenance, it does show me the Sales U/M, but the cost seen is Standard Unit of Measure Cost.  And when I create a WT from the template, it use Sales U/M and the Cost is Sales U/M.  I think this is a "glitch"; and would report it to JobOps Support.
