  • 1.  Operations Management was released by Scanco 07/25/2024

Download Landing Page for JobOps https://portal.jobops.com/downloads States the Latest Releases are dated 7/25/2024.  However, when you drill down into v2024, v2023 or v2022 you will see all the latest releases are dated 5/31/2024.  I emailed Scanco to ask if the downloads with May Dates were accurate and current downloads.  This is the answers I received from David Gunnell, Vice President of Engineering:

    • Those May dates are correct!  We didn't actually release the files until QA was completed in July.
    • Release notes have not been completed yet, nor the installer documentation although the installation process has not changed from last compliance release, so those installers are still valid.

Is it just me, or does "releasing software" without the release notes/documentation, count as releasing software?  And do we actually think the software dated 5/31/24 was "QA Tested" for two months and they made no changes at all to the installers?  Oh boy, I need a Vacation!

I'll see your concern and raise you with "how about PU1" and is this release 2024.1 compatible? I cannot imagine telling a customer with a big enhancement like JobOps/OpManagement to go ahead and install on 2024.0 and then anytime I call in for support the first question is whether I installed PU1.....

Since Scanco purchased Operations Management (JobOps); it is typically +4 months from PU0 before they have PU1 available.  We are doing a number of upgrades for clients in the fall and they are all slated for v2023; because it takes them so long to release PU1.  :(

They are consistent in not getting any release out on time, not releasing any product features in how many years has it been, etc.  I have laid down my neutral sword as of January 1 this year.  What a joke that they expect us to believe the release was 'done' for 2 months??  C'mon, a lot of us are getting on on years, but it doesn't mean we aren't wise.

If we have to upgrade to 2023 when 2024 was released six months ago then the customer only has 1.5 years before Sage doesn't support it.
