One of our clients is about to upgrade to 2017 Advanced. One of the principals is asking about running Sage 100 on a Mac. I've seen this reference (circa 2013): ""You can check out a virtual machine software application such as Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac or VMware Fusion 5 which will allow you to install Windows on the Mac"". Or RDP to a Windows machine. Has anyone set this up for a client in the past few years and have a solution they like? @WayneSchulz ? Pros and cons?

You can use any of the supported virtual machines or an RDP. You won't be running Sage 100 under MAC OS rather you'll be running it via a virtual or RDP solution which works just fine subject to the usual issues of remote printers, et.

I have always used VM Ware Fusion on both my mac at home and for clients as well. I'm pretty sure @PhilipWhirley is a mac user too and may also have some input.

Hi @BarbaraGoldstein, Nicole is correct that I do all my work from a Macbook. If I want to run Sage 100 locally, I use VMWare Fusion. You can also run Windows on a Mac with a similar product from Oracle (https://www.oracle.com/virtualization/virtualbox/index.html). However, the vast majority of my work is done on other people's servers, ASI's central network, or on Amazon Web Service servers. For those, I use Microsoft Remote Desktop, which is available for the Mac OS and works quite well. I can even run Remote Desktop from my iPad. There are software clients for Citrix on the Mac, as well. I don't find it a hardship at all to operate Sage 100 from my Macbook. I've been doing it for years.
