On the decision we will soon make regarding Association Resources, I think it would be helpful for us to survey our members and get their feedback. I've created the first draft of some potential questions we could ask members via a survey, which might help us in this decision. Great job on the survey. Do we want to offer some incentive on completing the survey.

I don't think so - let's just make sure that we get the most important questions in the survey. I would like to keep it as short as possible and ensure that only questions which are important get in.

So what's our policy? Consultants can't coordinate their own sessions with other members?

I think they can if they want to buy an affiliate sponsorship. It's probably a slippery slope to let people create paid events and advertise them. We've also gone to xKzero several times on renewal and I don't think they want to pony up because for some strange reason they don't see the value (aka - why buy the cow when you get the milk free).

Tough to know the right answer here. Our mission is clear that 90minds is for facilitating our members to share, grow and collaborate. I know what it take to run a preconference and I am pretty sure this aint going anywhere for profit anyways. if it does bully for them.

Notice it is quite a bit steeper than our conference was - and Jim arranged all the food! Who will do that, Alnoor?

Well, I don't think Alnoor is the instigator. We should send Samantha a note regarding that this is a great idea for us and we can take it from there as part of our ongoing education commitment. We should also ask Alnoor to direct her to the Admin or else tell her to take it off line.

Is anyone going to address this? @RobertWood or should I?

The price is ""retail"" price for something like that. We tend to highly subsidize these sessions even when they turn a profit.

We have a similar but different problem if Data Self is offering separate preconference training at MotM.

This really is not about much more than advertising within Socialcast. What people do outside SC is none of our concern. When posts blatantly advertise for sign-ups or sale of a product they can be removed. This post skirted the line because it asked if anyone was interested and then progressed to begin developing possible pricing and registration. If Alnoor, or anyone, contacts members outside of 90 Minds there's not much we can do. We have to provide so much value in 90 Minds that people would be crazy to go elsewhere.
