On MAS200 4.5.4 client (cpa) is trying to write a trend report but with Bal sheet accts only. After setting up report then giving a range of acct numbers it is blank. If he adds 1 p&l # to the list it shows up. I feel like I know the answer but is there anyway around this result?

Cannot create a Trend Report from B/S accounts :( from standard MAS. You need a custom tool.

Yes, Kathleen is correct you can't write a Trend Report for the Balance Sheet.

You used to be able to do balance sheet trend reports but someone at Sage decided they weren't useful so they took the ability away, I think in version 4.0.

Another reason why SMI or Biznet are necessary tools these days. If he has a copy of FRx, you could also write the trend in that also.

Unfortunately, they don't have FRX so it looks like they are going to have to get some smINTELLIGENCE if they want Sage ERP 100 to do something out of the ordinary.

You can use the *UnhideGL program to turn on the old report writer and create one using the original custom reporting method. It is not WYSIWYG but it still works!

You are right alan, and I have a couple of customers still using this,,, but If I don't write this for them then I am not sure about the ""lead time"" in teaching this old trick to a newer dog.
