OMG, just had to fix a 3.22 system that had some open A/R invoices with the Paid Today? flag wrong. Had to reinit AR9 and ARA. I forgot how much fun the old DOS screens were. Fumbling thru it sorta made me chuckle.

Does the firm charge extra for working on antiques? Was it on a Novell server?

I still have one on 3.40! Surely makes you appreciate the little things like being able to keep the windows open after preview! Especially when I'm doing his monthly financial statements. The social security number does not hold six digits either but he says that's o.k., nobody here will ever make that much! Time to get some ""tough love"" going.

We have one still running 3.51 who is CURRENT ON MAINTENANCE - major mods and they never want to pay for an upgrade...

I also have one on 3.6 talking about repurchase now. They are getting worried their server will crash or their ancient 20 gb hard drive workstations ;)

@PhilMcIntosh why do they stay current on maintenance if they don't want to upgrade??

@ThereseLogeais - no idea but 3 different controllers over the past 8-10 years have kept paying the maintenance and refusing to pay for the upgrade of the customizations.

I just upgraded someone from 3.21 recently. About a week later Isaac struck and their server crashed. Fortunately they had a good backup.

All of our clients are past that now. The main thing I remember was that most were on Unix and no one ever had a complaint about speed. I love the new features, but back then we didn't know what we were missing and IMHO, we were ahead of most all of the competition.

Thought of you today @BrettZimmerman - I was at a 3.23 UNIX client this morning to go over 4.5 with them. It was such a step back to see the old screens!! I had a hard time remembering what was and was not included at that version, such as sales tax schedules. Did you know you can include a state, a county, and anther code but that's it? I asked her how they tax their Minneapolis deliveries, which have state, county, city and special taxes. She said she didn't think they were liable for the city tax. ""Um, you might want to check on that...."" And wasn't there an old F7(?) function that would allow lookups of several different things from one list?? Explorer??

One of the orphan calls I fielded while Wayne was on a 3.2 DOS version. They didn't need a support plan because they were going to SAP. Yeah. Sure.

Lol, crazy. Yeah, Explorer; I remember that. And since we're talking about ""throwbacks"", I was remoted into a system today and I saw a TeleMagic icon on the Desktop.

Hey @JohnLeonard how did your 3.21 upgrade go? I have just been contacted by a client who is on 3.21 and ready to upgrade. I haven't seen anything older than 3.3x. I'm wondering what would be a good upgrade path. They have Inventory so that makes me think 3.51 will be involved. I wonder if I can go from 3.21 to 3.51?

Now if only I can locate that old KB about migrating MAS 90/200 from Unix to Windows. I guess it didn't survive the decommissioning of InfoSource.
