OMG - it's been raining for two days here in Michigan so I guess some people are just bored. But, I'm in an email war with a client's outside database programmer. His emails back and forth to me are being cc'd to everyone in the accounting department. We are having an issue with one person's ability to logon to the SAGE 100 ERP ODBC database from inside his MS Access program. He actually said that he ""doesn't understand why this logon is an issue now since he created the MS Access to MAS90 connection in 1999 and it has been working since then and continues to work on other workstations!"" Are you kidding me! We have only upgraded SAGE 100 ERP three times since 1999. I'm guessing MS Access has been upgraded several times. And the workstation operating system has been upgraded and Windows updates occur daily. Things change in this fast-paced world of technology. Learn to live with it and adapt, don't just blame all ills on the accounting system!

Unfortunately, we get blamed for many ills. No use engaging in the that game but do try to help the guy out. What version of Sage, what version of Access, is it linked tables or PTQ's that he is using. Has he tried to rebuild the connection? Maybe they have taken away his access but no one has told him yet....

The version of SAGE is 2014 and MS Access is 2010, linked to SAGE 100 ERP tables via ODBC. Last Friday re-install the SAGE 100 Workstation client on the troublesome computer. The user was able to login to the SAGE 100 ERP database, but she could not use her speedy tab or enter keys. She had to purposely click into the User Login: box and slowly enter her three character ID; then click in the Password: box and slowly enter her 4 digit/numeric password; then double click on the OK button. If she logs into SAGE 100 ERP directly all tab and enter keys work as normal. I suggested we try a silent ODBC connection on that one workstation and see what happens. I'm waiting for his response.
