Good morning all - looking to see if anyone has experience with this or has some suggestions on what else to review while I wait for Scanco Support to respond.

I worked with Scanco last week to install and configure Manufacturing 100 for a test Sage 100 v2023 system and shortly afterwards, users began reporting that they were no longer able to use Starship to ship against sales orders with work tickets in the live Sage 100 v2021 system. We now see a "Sales Order contains JobOps work ticket item(s). This Sales Order must be invoiced in MAS first, and then the Invoice can be shipped in Starship Freight". They had been using this setup for a few months now, where the shipment process using either the Starship Desktop or Starship Web client would write back the tracking number as a /C comment line to the sales order, and then the shipping/invoicing process would be completed 1-2 days later.

There were no installs or configuration changes into Sage 100 v2021 that day, and I have confirmed that the Starship Source Interface settings are still set to "Do not create invoice when shipping sales order document" but we continue to get this message on every MTO sales order.

I am going to try a Starship Server Registration Update next just to see if there's any disconnect between Starship and the test/live Sage 100 instances and Source Links, but if anyone else knows better how to troubleshoot this integration, let me know. Thanks in advance!

Amber, StarShip will not prompt when invoicing a sales order if the work ticket should be shipped complete.  It is not a feature that Synergistic/Scanco and V-Technology every developed.  Your options in your WT Class Maintenance are:  1 ) set the WT Class to "Partial Ship" (so no question is asked);  2) set the WT Class to "Final Bill" (so no question is asked"; or 3) use Shipping data entry to prompt the questions and ship the goods, then in StarShip you have to ship the invoice.  With option (2) the entire order ships and you can't backorder anything (Final Bill); I don't recommend this one.  With Option (3) they can no longer use the button in shipping data entry.

I've never seen it write back the tracking information as a comment on the sales order line but have also never used the feature in StarShip Source Interface Setting to "do not create invoice when shipping sales order document".  Has StarShip been upgraded lately?  Potentially an upgrade in StarShip to v2024 and an installation of Source Link to v2023 of Sage 100 is causing this change in behavior?

Thank you for the response, Madeline. I was on with Scanco for 1.5 hours today but they could not figure out what was preventing me from shipping against an open sales order. This is an option to do when only prepping the shipment but not ready to enter the invoice/shipping data entry yet. While I am waiting to see if V-Tech will offer to conference with Scanco, I tested creating the invoice first and then shipping against that document type instead, which worked. So I have that as a workaround until the two publishers can figure out what went wrong.
