Old Custom Financials. Is there any limit to the number of linkages? Is there a back door way to analyze and relink the GLD Custom F/S linkage line file? Removing and re-entering a line corrects error 47 GLWMBD 10137, but in tends to reoccur later.

Did you try rebuilding GL9 and GLF?

John, in case you haven't heard, SMI is where it's at! I don't even tell my users that the old custom financials will work in v4.x if you know the secret code. Only one has caught me in this little fib. Wash you hands of all knowledge. You'll feel younger!

Thanks for the replies. Therese, I intend to rebuild all of them tonight. None of the reports seem to have issues with lines, so I think GL 9 is likely OK. GLF is the file that holds the data from the update and we aren't having issues updating or printing most reports. We just have one where the client is trying to change some linkages. We used to be able to use analyze and relink GLD back to GL9. Jeff, I have heard of SMI or SBI or whatever it's currently called. It took a while but I think Alchmex's last addition finally made a product I will like. I hope belonging to Sage now doesn't mess those people up. As far as the custom financials go, when 4.0 came out, that was the first question they asked and because I was old and weak, I relenquished the secret code. I should have come to you first.

Is this when the report is printed? Did you see this? Resolution 4: (Version 4.x and later) Create a new report number using the 'Copy From' option. I have no idea if it resolves it but it's worth a try....

As they say, hind sight is always 20/20. When you get a grasp of SMI, let me know so you can show me the tricks. Until then, it is just S & M in my book.

I always thought Sage Mass Intelligence was named ironically on purpose.

Thanks @ThereseLogeais. I use Resolution 4 most any time a report doesn't seem to work properly and Res 4 does work. It appears the report definition is stored separately from the working parts of the report. A report can really be screwed up and making a copy will almost always yield a working report. A report definition of the Bad report and the new Copy will look the same. In this case, I have had to delete the old report after making the copy due to the linkage file being corrupt enough to prevent the data update. Removing the old report removes the corrupt section of the file and things work fine, for a while. Something still lurking in the GLD file. She has a lot of reports and I have asked her to remove the ones that are no longer active. The client also uses Biznet.
