OK...I am going insane... I copied a VI Job from one customer to another...for importing Payroll Data Entry... the records import correctly...but once I press the Payroll Tax Calculation..it just hangs there...I have to kill the task.... it works perfectly on the other customer. By the way, if I manually enter the data...tax calculation works OK... any clues???

I've had VI jobs be quirky where they work fine and then just stop working for some reason. I recreate them from scratch, setting them up exactly like the original and the new ones work fine. Sage has no explanation. Try setting it up manually.

Agree with @MaryJoKrueger - Try rekeying it. Life is too short to keep fighting it.

Ok...definitely losing it by now... I rekeyed the import job...still got the error. Thought it was something with the customer's installation so I copied their data and exported the three vi jobs I have now. I run the vi job in my installation...no errors on the import...but still hangs in Payroll Tax Calculation...weird thing is that I test the same import job for ABC company and it runs perfectly....all through the process.... OK...so it is not my VI Job....any ideas???

What if you key some time and run the tax calc. Does it complete?

Yes...if I enter Payroll Data Entry...works...that's what they do now....we want to expedite the data entry time...

I know this sounds kind of elementary but helps me on occasion. Enter the time manually and before running tax calculation, sort PR files by date time. Delete the payroll entered and import the data. Can you find a file that is not being written to by the VI job?

Also, on the good customer, export the entire import table to excel and do the same for the 'bad' customer. THere will likely be some kind of difference between the two sheets.

Try reinitializing the payroll data entry files then run the VI job.
