OK, this is actually Beth urgent support needed, not Sage 100. We are now in Punta Gorda using CenturyLink and my Remote Desktop connections are all failing with the std 3 reason failure. Can't ping those addresses, but my Internet connection is fine. I""m sure I need to do something on my router (open a port? close a port? kick a port's ass?) but no idea what and customer support, of course, sucks. Anyone have any generic ideas to throw out?

Try to telnet (or use Putty) to connect to the IP:3389 (TCP port 3389 is the default for Remote Desktop Protocol). If you get a blank screen with a blinking cursor, then the ports are good. If not, then either the ports are not set correctly, or 3389 is being blocked by the ISP.

Thanks - we have turned off the router's firewall for the moment (I still have a firewall on my machine) and we're getting through, after 3 reboots and much cursing.

I know this won't help but...I tried CenturyLink's internet once. I won't be doing that again.

Aw @RobertWood - thanks for those encouraging words! NOT... Hey, wait, I am in the same state as you now, aren't I?

And not just the state of confusion. Though, I think Punta Gorda is almost a state by itself.

I have already learned where the Emergency Vet Clinic is down here (actually in Pt Charlotte). It's been a fun few days, beginning with our 24 hour non-stop trip down here (hereafter known as The Trip Whose Name We Dare Not Speak).
