Ok, I know this will sound weird, but saw it for myself. Customer has not been able to close AP period end since 2012 because the message says the file AP_Vendor is being used by another task. Where can I find the flag in Sage to turn this off. v5.2.3 Std

Maybe a file in the LOCK folder?

Do they have PO and is a PO file open when they try to period end?

Is this Standard or Advanced? If Advanced, are you saying they haven't rebooted their server since 2012?? I'm guessing Standard and someone, somewhere has a hung pvxwin32 process running.

Std and do you think they would never reboot their server since 2012? That's why it is weird. I will look around some more. They have been dealing with it awhile, though this is the first I have heard about it.

I recall a customer that couldn't seem to close GL without a similar message. I finally told them to have all the users exit the system, except for the one closing, and it solved the problem.

I have had Locked file errors that would not go away with a server reboot but did go away after turning the server off and then starting it up. Sage told me they've seen this situation also.
