OK, I know I have posted this before but after searching for 30+ minutes, I have to move on.. Installing UDF in CI_item that validates against a UDT. After putzing with it for 15 minutes, I still can't get the UDF field to display the magnifying glass instead of the slider. @BethBowers - I distinctly recall that you had posted something of value. Any others? TIA

If you added the field to the panel before setting up the validation, remove the field from the panel and re-add

No. Added validation before adding to panel. If the field height is one inch, there is no drop down. If you create a height of +2, you get the slider. I have gotten the magnifying glass before, Always seems to be hit or miss. I am completely missing on this one,

Sounds like you set it up as a List Box in control type instead of a Drop Box.

Field type is wrong. Just a standard multiline field. Not a drop box or list box

Clarification. for a UDT validation, a Multiline control type works for me

If you use a field type other than multiline, then the UDT validation on the second tab is not accessible.

**Yes, I DO!!!!** When I searched on ""secret"", all I got were the secret Admin group posts. Mums the word on those!!! What were your search words? Magnifying? Actually, as I recall, there is a more recent one that 5+ years ago. I am very certain that @BethBowers posted.....

Back to this broken record. But I may have found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. It appears that quality control standards are not in play in the programming department, Added a UDF (linked to UDT) to the SO Header and SO Invoice Header panels. UDF's are nearly identical. The magnifying glass appeared on the first try (with a message that the UDF height had to be one) on the SO Order header but I gave up after five tries at getting the same behavior on the SO Invoice header panel. As I was typing this note, I realized that the only difference was **that the Order UDF is a manual entry and the SO invoice UDF is a BOI link.** So I created an invoice UDF as a manual entry validated against the UDT, then added that test UDF to the Invoice Header panel. Viola! The magnifying glass look up appeared. I then deleted the original UDF and recreated as a manual entry. Added that to the Invoice Header panel and EUREKA! The magnifying glass appeared. Success. I then modified the UDF by linking it to the SO UDF as done originally. Wow, 9:30 AM and it is High Satisfaction Day already.....
