You mean the ""Sage Partner Portal"". The ""Sage Portal"" takes you back in time to State of the Art, when the Internet didn't generally exist, and we didn't know who Sage was. Happier times!

At this point I'll blame whatever portal I need to.

I switch between IE, Chrome and Firefox now. Usually one of them works. If all three give errors, then I contact support.

I just go ahead and contact my friends. They're quicker.

It could be worse. You could have 2 portal accounts like I have.

Remember when you could get your own quotes online?? Trying to get one by tomorrow but of course that's not going to happen. Yeah, I know you can figure new sales yourself with that wonderful spreadsheet but this is a reinstatement. Hadn't really thought about the old way until I saw Robert's rant, er, displeasure with the portal.

I do. I also remember they weren't right about half of the time. Good luck trying to figure out how much it costs to add a user these days? Are they subscription or module based? How many users do they already have? Are they under the old EES model? Is Mercury properly aligned with Neptune?

  • 9.  RE: Oh, yeah. That's why I avoid the Sage Portal.

They are module based. They are n-2 and could do subscription but the number of users (21) and the fact they have PR and WO, it would be $1,700/mo. and that's AFTER the 15% discount they are offering through tomorrow. I asked for a quote to reinstate them. She said she would try and get it done as soon as possible. Really? How hard can it be????

So how are Mercury and Neptune doing with the alignment?

Just try to answer a prospect who asks ""so what does Sage 100 cost""? Like Robert says there are at least three ways to answer - online, subscription, bundle and maybe a fourth of just outright module by module. Clearly Sage could whittle this down but I think they're not able to come up with a workable model that would be revenue neutral for the 80++ % of revenue coming from existing user maintenance. Every time I have to ask for a quote from Sage for anything I just hang my head in shame for what Sage has become.

Not sure about the planets aligning Robert but we are now aligned with a new rep which makes it even worse. Our former guy was pretty good to work with and now I have to start over with a new one. I'm sure she's nice but I get a little tired of having to figure out who we are supposed to contact. Let's see, new sales is person A, for maintenance renewals it's person B, for winbacks(?) it's person C.

Yeah. No planetary alignment for you.

...then figure out what is a winback this month and what is a new sale.... even Sage doesn't seem to know.

@ThereseLogeais You need to escalate this up. Don't be afraid to hurt anyone's feelings. I am pretty sure our last Sales Advisor made up some story and quit because I was pressuring him so much.

I surmise Sage has been trying to line up with Pluto, but no one told them it had been demoted.

Now that we're doing Sage 300, those sales people are in Vancouver and are very efficient about quotes and orders.

They were on the portal long before Sage 100 moved to it.

Which means they should have worked out all the bugs for the Sage 100 group.

@Real... I mean @JohnHoyt have you seen any signs the customer portal is any better?

I have never actually been on the Customer Portal, so I accessed it without logging on. There are a number of options that don't require logging on. Strange to me was the option ""Epicor Analytics Customer Support"". Once you go into that, there is a section called Epicor Active Planner. Why is this here? Has SAP intermingled some content? As far as I know there is still a Sage Active Planner. So I guess the answer is it isn't any better.
