Off-Plan Promotion I was told by more than one Sage employee that off-plan customers could opt for 100c and pay no up-front fees. I was called today and told by my RSM that was not true, but they would first need to relicense at 30% off of product and then could upgrade to 100c and no additional charge. As Emily Litella (Gilda Radner) used to say on SNL: ""Oh, that's very different . . . Never mind.

I forgot a key point - relicense on PERPETUAL and then upgrade to 100c. That certainly supports getting everyone on subscription.

Don't worry - by 10/3 Sage will probably offer a new promotion where off-plan can go 100c without any fee.

I heard from my RSM that there will be no (or very limited) promos in the first quarter. Also heard today that they will no longer be allowed to waive late fees starting 10/1.

And they will no longer receive any dollars from those customers who choose to leave.

So the RSM claimed that it would cost more to do 100c with up-front fees than to do Perpetual 100 with the 30% off on product. Not true - better to do 100c directly with all fees. Apparently Sage is using Common Core math.

It's just a mess. No one knows what's what.

This is basically the same flawed offers Sage made with EES. Mostly customers who found it cheaper took the EES offer. Everyone else sat back. Same deal here until Sage discontinues perpetual and forces a migration. Oh, wait. No forced migrations. At least not until this leadership team is migrated. Things are dire IMO.

Oh. And Sage promptly yanked the EES offer once someone in Irvine learned to use a calculator. Yes, technically EES morphed into Sage 100 but I don't think the aggressive EES pricing did.

Is this a new rule? I moved an off-plan customer to 100c a month ago with no up-front fees.

Perhaps it depends on who processes your order....... Keep calling until you get the response you want..............

@MarkKotyla You must have ordered under the old rule, which was called the Diane Haines rule. She apparently believes in magic - now working at OpenSesame. But she was in marketing, not sales - they have very different rules.

The 30% relicense cost may be more than 100c with up-front fees. When things get this bizarre, it's time to look at other options.

_**When things get this bizarre, it's time to look at other options.**_ Or, with Sage, just wait 6 months for the person who worked up the spreadsheet pricing to be replaced.

I think it's entirely reasonable to encourage current Sage customers to ""look at other options."" Most will decide that the switching costs aren't worth the modest, if that, decrease in ongoing fees with the alternative. IMO Most Sage customers who change are doing it for other reasons, with any cost secondary or tertiary. Of course, helping a customer ""look at other options"" would be a paid engagement. Fixed price, not cheap, as it would involve applying your highest value as a consultant to addressing their problem which could return significant $$$ to the operation.
