OAuth settings for MS O365 on Sage 100 v2022?

  • 1.  OAuth settings for MS O365 on Sage 100 v2022?

    Has anyone set up OAuth for Office 365 on Sage 100 -- and if so can you share what you've put into the fields?
    And if you've found an O365 specific KB with a link that would be helpful as well

    Has anyone successfully used this on version 2021 or 2022? 
    my client is on Azure and they turned off / disabled the Basic Authentication.

    We have a client that is Having Local Host connection issues.  We are currently working with Scott Brady at Sage trying to resolve the issues.  I will report back any fix that they come out with

    I was speaking with SAGE development.  They are going to be releasing a fix for the Oauth MS365 integration.  hopefully it will be in the next service pack.

    Slightly off-topic - in preparing for today's newsletter I ran across this from Google: 

    To help keep your account secure, from May 30, 2022, ​​Google no longer supports the use of third-party apps or devices which ask you to sign in to your Google Account using only your username and password.

    Important: This deadline does not apply to Google Workspace or Google Cloud Identity customers. The enforcement date for these customers will be announced on the Workspace blog at a later date.

    So is this business of having to use OAuth dependent on your e-mail provider?   

    I believe I saw info that Microsoft was was going to stop supporting user name/password in favor of OAuth in October.  Last post suggests that Google is no longer supporting in May.

    Inquired with my e-mail provider (Domainmonger) and they seem to suggest that they don't support OAuth at this time.

    I checked with Ido a few days ago, concerned about Visual Cut and the pending Microsoft changes.  This was his reply, which seems to imply the changes are not as much of a brick wall as we originally thought (for SMTP):

    Is there a reason that authentication can't happen through something like this:

    Does this type of authentication -- through a user-friendly UI  -- not work for the SMTP connection?

    The instructions Sage provided ( your link above ) looks like something out of the 1990's

    Actually once you input all the settings in the OAuth setup in company maintenance. It will prompt you with that prompt to login. After you test and it will remember it so you only have to do it once. Provided you are emailing at least once every 90days or you have to revalidste.
