  • 1.  Nuvei terminal server update and c/s odbc driver

    Client rebooted their server this morning and they got the prompt to install update the Nuvei terminal server (I only started seeing this in the last couple of days).  They went ahead and let it install.

    Now we are having issues with C/s ODBC driver.  No one using it can print.  I have temporarily taken everyone off of using the C/S ODBC driver as a work around.

    C/S ODBC driver is no longer running at the server and refuses to start up as a service.  Tried running it as an app and got

    Conflict between the driver and low level I/O routines (pvxio.dll)

    Knowledge base article suggests some procedures regarding the pvxio.dll.  After searching around I found the pvxio.dll has a date of 12/2024.  Since this is a 2022 version of Sage 100 there is no way that this should have a date in 2024 so I'm assuming that the Nuvei install updated the dll and this version is incompatible with the 2022 pvxiosvr.exe.

    My theory at this point is to get a copy of the pvxiosvr.exe from the 2024 version and see if it will fire up.  Will wait till this evening to try it.

    Anyone else seeing this?

    Got brave and tried with the 2024 version of the pvxiosvr.exe and am getting the same message.  :(

    Making inquires of Nuvei/Paya at this time.

    So did you install the ODBC fix that has since been taken down?  Does printing work if you deselect the ODBC option in user maintenance or disable it in system configuration?

    My client is on v2022, installed the "fix" at the behest of a 3rd party.  ODBC service would not start.  Everyone could print if ODBC was not activated for the user.

    Nathon at Sage Tech support provided a new PVXIOSVR.exe.  Not sure if it is strictly 2022 or not.

    Not aware of the ODBC fix, so no I have not installed it.

    Printing works fine if C/S ODBC drivers is disabled.

    By reference to yesterday's backup I did confirm that the pvxio.dll is different version so I assume that is the root of the issue.

    Thanks to Jeff Schwenk.

    He provided me with an updated pvxiosvr.exe that got things working at the server.  I don't see this in the Knowledgebase.

    He also provided me with an updated ODBC driver (which it appears can be downloaded from the Knowledgebase).  Had to install this at any workstation using the C/S ODBC driver.

    This can be removed from the URGENT community.

    Not sure if the total fix is ready for prime time.  Has it been put back up on the KB?

    I found the ODBC driver update in the KB.  I haven't spotted the pvxiosvr.

    Update:  I discovered that the Nuvei terminal driver update appears to be affecting the explorer modules as well.  On an RDS,  I had to uninstall the Sage 100 workstation, reinstall and then install the updated ODBC drivers  (this is on a 2022 system).
