Now for something slightly different! Does anyone know a good solution for a client that wants to send out protected values only worksheets via Sage Intelligence's distribution function? Client does NOT want to send PDF's nor do a second step (like send values-only file to herself and then protect worksheets).

This functionality exists for Sage 100 2015 and higher. On the Manage Instructions tab choose the Convert each worksheet to static values option.

And on the Advanced tab you can protect the output

@MicheleHerzog Thanks, converting to values is there but they ALSO want the distributed reports to be automatically protected. @BethBowers Close but not quite there. Client needs the SI formulas converted to values AND have those values locked so they cannot be manipulated in the report using Distribution function. I see those as contradictory needs: 1. to convert SI formula to value, the cell must be unlocked, 2. to not allow cell (in distributed report) to be non-modifiable it has to be locked. I was hoping for a simple solution outside of SI.

There is the Run Macro line on the Advanced Tab that will execute a macro after the report generates. You could use it to combine ""convert to values"" with ""protect worksheet"" and then if you want to take it one-step further, set the SI report it run via the Task Scheduler and save to a specific location.

@MoiraGoggin the timing of those macros are off. I don't need the ""working"" SI report protected. I need to use the Distribution function to email Excel files to others that are values only (no SI formulas) AND are protected.

I don't think you can do both. I would use the distribution function to create the xlsx 'value only' files, based on your distribution needs, to a folder. Then open the worksheets and add the protection before manually sending them off.
