Sage 100

Not sure if anyone saw the official Sage 100 ERP 2013 ver 5 release guide. See attached. A few interesting pieces - they are pulling out the 941 and 1099s in favor of Aatrix in the ERP 2014 version. Multiple Companies to one CRM database. Mobile - looks like they are making mobile data entry to MAS via Sage CRM. So if you want to take orders on your iphone you have to have CRM licenses and run through there. This may be a disaster if you want to check info such as on credit hold, inventory on hand, ship to addresses are in MAS but not in CRM etc. Payments will be able to be on via IPhone.

1. Say goodbye to PC Charge 2. Say goodbye (maybe) to FRX (still unknown when/if FRX will become incompatible but my guess is Sage will have to give a 12 month window).

It really seems like a weak release as far as new functionality in other areas of the system. If you notice they are really trying to drive connected services. So in 4 years if you want to print a 1099 on a new version you have to pay the maintenance to get the aatrix to work. I like at the end of the pdf they add all these other products as if they did something with them to give filler to make it a long doc.

I completely agree Johnny and also it's worth noting that the more add-ons a company uses the bigger the nightmare it can be to upgrade them from version to version. Granted when data tables stop changing due to less substantial upgrade features then things may start to calm down a little. Bolting on pieces of add-ons seems like a quick fix but I submit it will only be so if the bolt-ons are fast and easy to upgrade (think Sage Payment CC integration).
