Not sure if anyone else received this survey, but decided to fill it out and see where it lead to. I kept choosing ""none of these"" when the 'package' clearly was designed to cut out the reseller channel from upgrades. The remaining information on document scanning and AP was interesting. Wonder if they're thinking of bringing in some of Altec's features?

Holy cow, who would have the patience to fill out such a long survey? Any reward?

Nice capture. I'm with Mark - wow is that a really long survey. And one thing that all the SaaS vendors keep harping on is that multi-tenant is the only way to scale for upgrades and enhancements. If this is for a Sage 100 type system (and therefore not multi-tenant) then the upgrades are being applied manually by someone. Of course this also pre-supposes that new customers would purchase an off-the-shelf Sage 100 without any extensive add-ons like multi-bin, Job - Ops, etc which would typically cause more effort for their upgrade cycle. This strikes me as some pie-in-the-sky thinking on Sage's part. Of course it's possible they have some multi-tenant solution that they have hidden somewhere or they've worked out the details of how they could efficiently perform upgrades for many customers.

Market Research Gone Wild! I suspect that it's aimed at longer-term, or maybe what Sage One morphs into next year. I think nearly any competent market researcher would say, ""Huh?"" This becomes an extremely self-selecting survey. Without any explicit reward, imagine what the profile of people who actually wade through to the end would be? And the trade off questions numb the mind quickly, so most of the answers are suspect; would they really hold true in a real sales cycle? What ever comes out of this would be highly suspect ... at best.

@MarkChinsky - no reward, except for sharing this with 90 Minds! Thanks @WayneSchulz I appreciate the compliment. Yes it was a long survey, but it became a game to see how many variations would be proposed at each selection of ""none of these"". Two things that seemed to change most were the price and the installation of updates Cheaper if updates/upgrades auto installed and more expensive when needing an IT consultant. As each 'none' was chosen the next list tried baiting on pricing with ""auto"" installed and when that didn't work the last list of choices had wide variances in price: 59 per month per user, 300 month plus 199 month per user and last 89.99 per month per named user. They only packages I choose were 300 month plus 199 month per user needing an IT consultant to install updates/upgrades, and I'm sure that's not what the survey was expecting. @JerryNorman note sure the aim, not sure of the intended audience either. But I doublt it's Sage One which is currently 29/month unlimited users, but then again, maybe they are testing the waters to see what price hike would be tolerated.

I have little doubt that Sage's dream (maybe just an hallucination) is to have Sage One grow up to meet the lower end of X3 (lower than X3's current low end). That said, my reference to it was half tongue in cheek. It's really hard for to understand what useful data that might get from something structured like that survey.

Agreed @JerryNorman - it was a rather odd survey can't say if it was dream inspired, or the result of something else!

What I saw was Sage driving prices lower for no apparent reason. Cheapen your software, lower your value, disenfranchise your channel and lower your stock value...

Did anyone else get two separate survey invites?
