Sage 100

Not really urgent but thought more people would see this here and most have clients with payroll. There has been an IRD every year for the last several years. Anyone heard or seen anything indicating one way or the other regarding an Interim Release Download (IRD) for year end?

There is an IRD listed as due for 2017, nothing for 2018 though I presume that may be because there is a payroll update slated for December and that may include the IRD? I also inquired with Aatrix who was helpful in asking Sage for more info. Sage's response was basically that they'll release a year-end guide and when they do I'll know then when/if something will release. (not kidding). I just received response from a friend in support at Sage. They cannot guarantee there will be a year-end update but ""There is always an IRD of some sort but it would not be released until almost the end of the year. Neither will the forms from Aatrix for 2017 ready until then. It's because of the Government's last minute changes. We are never given the opportunity to release early.

Am I understanding correctly that it is not possible right now to print 2017 W-2s? I have a customer that closed business mid-year and so is ready to print w_2s now

I believe that is correct.

It's not usually out before Dec 20th, anyway, but we usually know something about it by now. I get it, they don't know what it needs to contain. I've just been honest with my PR customers. A deadline extension would be nice, IRS!

What government last minute changes? The IRS has published the forms on their site.

The Sage KB indicates Aatrix pushes updates every quarter on the 20th ( https://goo.gl/C3EmPE ) . Sage is also indicating a Payroll 2.0 update is due next week ( https://goo.gl/5ukPb4 ) which might will line up timewise with the expected Aatrix update. Haven't spotted anything on IRD yet. **Note:** Aatrix releases quarterly updates on the 20th of every third month (i.e. March, June, September and December). If the 20th falls on a weekend, it is usually released the Friday before. In the March update, the new tax years 941 form will be updated; in the December update, the current tax years annual forms (i.e. W2, 1095, 940 and 1099) will be updated.

The 2017 Interim Release Download and 2018 Q1 Tax Table Update will be released tomorrow, December 19th, per the ""Year End Processing Resources for Sage 100"" article (ID# 49810).
