The device for sale is the same that I use as a home machine. You can use the device for data analysis, SQL testing, etc. I love these boxes, especially if you travel with them much. Be sure to grab a number of ""accessories"" though. Get a keyboard, mouse, and docking station from Microsoft. Also get a micro display port to video connector adapter. Mine has three adapters on one end (HDMI, VGA, & DVI). Also get a USB adapter with multiple USB jacks and a Network cable jack in one.

Isn't Surface Pro 4 the current latest and 5 is on the horizon. I bought a Surface Book Performance and that thing has kick butt battery life. I take it to a customer site and use it full battery all day without really looking at the charge %. I'm probably going to look closely at the Surface 5 when it comes out.

Yes, it is the last gen. But this specific product was about $1,500 when it came out, and is now $600. I'm sure a surface Pro gen 5 will be $1,500 and I know a surface book is big bucks. This isn't for the Wayne's of the world, but for others. It's also an awesome computer if your kids need a laptop for school, and at $600 that's way more reasonable than $1,500

Could have used this 2 months ago when I bought my son a replacement laptop. He would have loved this...
